Devizes, Wiltshire - Silbury Hill - Avebury Manor - Henge

I thought I knew it all.
I thought I've seen it all.
I thought I've heard it all

Until .........

Sunday 29 May 2011, My hubby brought us to a place called Devizes in Wiltshire, UK. When we get there, I can hardly see any exquisite views that will amuse me so I was a bit secretly disappointed but then when we started walking a bit further, I saw a river or canal with gates in it. When we got closer I realized it was actually loads and loads of them and its all the way to the top of the hill.

I didn't really know what does it actually do and what is the point of having those gates in the canal but my hubby started to tell me what these gates are for.. Sigghhhsss Here we go again, not another blinking lectures :) (I love it really!)

After a long documentary from Mr. Parfitt.

I was actually impressed with the story behind those canal gates and for his ancestors to create this fantastic revolution. It's such an amazing achievement for those people who had this clever ideas to make life a lot easier and quicker for the future generations. What a Job Well Done!!!

If you love going for a long walk then you will enjoy the walk starting from the first gate all the way to the top and just a few miles away there are other beautiful places to visit like Silbury Hill and National Trust - Avebury Manor.

Of course knowing me, a woman with always something to moan about. The down side was, there is only one restaurant nearby and as much as I don't really want to bitch about the place. I believed they charged too much on hot drinks and sandwiches  :(

Anyway below are some photos I took from my mobile phone

1. Hoping to help the boat owners to unlock the canal gate
2. Still waiting... :)
3. Oooppsss there's some smile so meaning there is hope
4. And they began the push
5. and push ...
6. and  .... pushhhh......

Lovely Jobly!

After Devizes, we went to Silbury hill but ended up being a little disappointed because we were not allowed to climb up the hill due to the fact that it's man made and the National Trust wants to protect it from getting ruined. :) which is fair enough.

However we still managed to go to another National trust which is in Avebury to see the Stone henge (like) and the Manor house. We went for another long walk but definitely worth it as its very refreshing, the wind blows just right, it was not so busy and the view was pretty amazing!
Its was a big shame  that we were not allowed to go in the Manor house because the BBC was doing documentary.
Oh well, its just a good reason to come back so I wasn't that upset about it.

Sidmouth, Devon - 27 May 2011

                                                                                   Sidmouth, Devon
If someone will ask me what is my favourite place. It's got to be Sidmouth, Devon. I just love the place so much. I felt so relaxed every time we go there.. I am very thankful with my husband because he made me appreciate nature and made me realized how lucky we are to have these beautiful views around us. Lucky he likes bringing us into different places to see lots of wonderful creations of GOD.
The garden up the top is so lush I wish I could camp in there :)

First Stop: Annie's Tea Bar - On the way to Sidmouth, there should be a place like hard shoulder which has a small caravan (like) who serves tea, coffee, sandwiches etc. Its not very expensive so its pretty good idea especially if you have got a little princess who is dying for a cuppa tea. Oh yes, Charlotte drunk two cups of tea.. oooppsss don't worry I don't normally allow her that but hey its half term. Lets give her a break :)

Second Stop: :) The car park and boy almost the whole day my husband was on and on and on and on and yes on about the bl@@dy car park. He paid £1.00 per hour and he was obviously not very impressed. In the end I just had to ask him how much he paid so I can pay him back instead which he refused to accept.
. Ohhh Men eiy!!!

Third Stop: The Garden. It was amazing to be on top and see the fabulous view of the sea and the coast line. We were so lucky because the weather was very nice. The sun shines and the wind was not very strong. I felt like I was on top of the world! Its fabulous!!

Lastly : The sea side. My daughter loves throwing stones in the sea. She just loves it. We saw few people swimming (with their wet suits on of course) and I thought it might be a good idea to take off our shoes and socks and try to go in the water. It wasn't a good idea after all as I felt so cold the moment I took my socks off. My daughter didn't mind the cold so she took her trousers off and kept playing with the stones.

Exmouth - Devon

On the way home, Rob decided to go to the next town called Exmouth. It wasn't as fab as Sidmouth but they do have some lovely houses by the sea. We didn't see any Fish and Chips shop there so we had to go further and ended up going to Harry Hamptons Restaurant. The chips was very good but I don't particularly like the chicken I ordered.

National Trust - Montacute

Apart from Johnny Depp's house (according to my hubby which sounds very dodgy) there is another place in Montacute that you should see if you decided to come over here in Somerset. It's the Montacute House and Garden - National Trust. My favourite garden is definitely the Stourhead but the House is a lot better and bigger in Montacute. They also have colouring and crafts making for the children so you can explore the gallery properly and peacefully :)

Have a look at some photos I took from my mobile phone:

The beautiful sun shines on my lovely daughter and it does look very magical and she is showing us how to do a proper curtsy :)

Isn't fabulous if you have a house as massive as this?

National Trust - Stourhead Wiltshire

The weather looks so inviting and so we've decided to visit the National Trust House and Garden in Stourhead. It was so lovely there and the garden is my favourite. I felt like I was in a Paradise...

May I just add that I also had my best ever ice cream - honey comb in Stourhead. I will definitely come back there both for the Garden and of course my Ice Cream lol

Have a look at the wonderful views of the Stoourhead Gardens and I definitely recommend the place to visit if you come to Wiltshire.

Royal Wedding

Everyone is talking about the Royal Wedding!

It won't be long now and we will witness (just on telly in my case :)) the Grand Royal Wedding. I am so pleased for Ms. Kate Middleton as she seems very happy and in love. Lets hope its going to be a life lasting marriage. It may not be going to be easy for her as she is not very used to being papped and talked about every day but hey its included in the path she chose. She obviously know what she's doing. I'm sure she will get her head around it and realized that her life is going to be entirely different from what it was before. She is now in a public eye and unfortunately every single thing she do is being monitored by the press and the public. Bless her!

Of course there are so many reasons why we can't blame Ms. Kate Middleton for marrying Prince William. Hellloooo .. Who doesn't want to marry a Prince anyway? Prince William looks very sensible in everything he do and not to mention his gorgeous manly voice. Isn't it so attractive? I don't mind getting hitch with a Prince too lol... too late for that...

Anyway Best of Luck to The Royal Couple....

Keeping up with the Kardashians

I am not really a telly addict. I would rather be in front of my laptop than being in front of television but I must admit there are few programs that I wouldn't dare to missed. My ultimate favourite is definitely : Keeping up with the Kardashians!

I am truly amazed on how Kim Kardashians, Khloe  Kardashians Odom and Kourtney  Kardashians managed to be themselves while in front of camera. My favourite among the three is Khloe because she seems very natural and doesn't care much about what she says or do. She just act as normal and she just have this very BIG PERSONALITY I wish I could also have.

Kim Kardashians is the prettiest though. She just seems so perfect and innocent looking :) .. She doesn't really need to wear sexy clothes to be noticed as her face even without make up is so pretty not to mention her body to die for.

Kourtney Kardashians seems to be the most sensible one as she is very careful on what she says and do. She seems very loyal with Scott Disick too which is a bit sad but hey we don't know everything what is going on behind the scene so perhaps he does treat Kourtney Kardashians a lot better than we usually see on telly.

The special bonding / friendship between Khloe and Kourtney really touch my heart. I love to see sisters being as close as they are. They are very protective to each other.

Oh I love the show and I wish they will continue to keep doing it so we can always keep up with the Kardashians :)

Blogging on the go..

Finally, I managed to get blogger on my phone. I am not a clever woman who can create blogs instantly and I only have rare moments where my mind is bursting with ideas and for some reason it happens when I'm not in front of my PC. Luckily I got this now so I hope I can blog even more... X
